The Knowlton Gallery has teamed with the San Joaquin County Historical Society & Museum to scout and record barns of the Central California region; in paint and through oral interviews with their current owners. Over 30 barns are featured in this show. Many barns have been repaired and re-roofed, and are still in use. Others are sagging and collapsing, yet still retain a unique beauty. These barns were, and are still are, used as stables, to store hay and farm equipment, as places where laborers bunk, where walnuts are hulled, and as homes for mice, owls, and memories.

I am SO excited to have found the perfect location for my workshop focusing on outdoor floral still life and garden scenes.... from start to finish. It will be a three day event with demonstrations, one on one instruction, critiques and lectures about my process.
We will be painting at Milfiori (the name means 1000 flowers), a beautifully restored 150 year old farmhouse surrounded by Provence-like gardens, wonderful rose covered porches, historic stone buildings and a barn to break your heart! I envision a workshop/retreat to learn and relax in a most tranquil, heaven on earth setting. Early morning meeting breakfast and light lunch will be included. There will be limited accommodations(the most delightful rooms with private bath) on site (first come, first served) or you can stay in nearby Murphys, heart of the Calaveras County Wine Country.
